A French composer, Pierre-Arnaud Destremau devotes his writing to the human voice and the colours of harmony.
Music that searches, in the very matter of sound, for the point where the voice becomes light.
Pierre-Arnaud Destremau is a French composer born on 2 September 1991. Music came to him through his mother's side of the family: as a young child he took private piano lessons, and it was at seventeen, in his final year of school and at his mother's invitation, that he began to sing. From then on, the voice became the centre of everything.
The thread running through his work is clear: to write hymns meant to be taken up by the congregation, in the parish, to keep the Catholic faith alive and radiant. Melodies you remember, carried together, in the service of the liturgy.
He writes both for mixed choir (SATB) and for men's voices (TTBB), notably for the ensembles he has founded and records with.
With the Cantiamo choir· an ensemble of around forty singers from all over France, he has recorded three albums: Vivant (2021), Ephata (2023) and Triduum (2026). From the latter comes the score of Ave Verum Corpus, now available for purchase. His works can be heard on the main platforms (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, YouTube).
Pierre-Arnaud Destremau did not train at a conservatoire. He learned to write music between 2019 and 2021, within a composition programme founded by Olivier Bardot· that is where he learned the craft of musical writing.
Among his influences, he claims the vocal rigour of groups such as The King's Singers and Voces8, and especially admires the choral writing of Eric Whitacre.

And the rest of the week? A different score entirely: I help B2B sales teams.
