Rising towards Easter

Released in 2026, Triduum offers a polyphonic journey through the three holy days that lead to the Resurrection. From the Commandement nouveau of Maundy Thursday to the Impropères of Good Friday, from the De Profundis to the Resurrexit, the album embraces the liturgy to extend it in concert.

The Ave Verum, the only score by Pierre-Arnaud Destremau currently available for purchase, is drawn from it, sung by any SATB choir upon simply acquiring the score.

Recorded in January 2026 in Saint-Ay (Loiret) and directed by the composer, Triduum brings together the sound engineering of Paul Lambert and the solo voices of Martha, Claire, Géraud and Antoine. The album follows the order of the three holy days: it can be heard in one sitting, as a journey, or nourish the liturgy hymn after hymn, from Maundy Thursday to the Easter Vigil.

“My life has been marked by painful and joyful moments. That is where I wrote best.” · Pierre-Arnaud Destremau
